Kinda weird to introduce a motorcycle at an auto show, but hey, there's a hubless motor for a rear wheel!

Finnish electric superbike comapny Verge Motorcycles has unveiled its latest creation, the California Edition electric motorcycle, at the 2024 LA Auto Show. The company is excited to introduce a bike that combines stylish, futuristic design with top-notch performance.

The California Edition features Verge's patented hubless motor design, strategically placed in the rear wheel to accommodate a larger battery for an extended range and a smoother ride. This makes Verg one of the more unique motorcycles on the market today.

Powered by the robust Verge TS Pro platform, the California Edition boasts an impressive 1000 Nm of torque, a top speed of 124 miles per hour, and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The motorcycle incorporates Öhlins suspension for superior handling and comfort. The battery is noteworthy for its rapid 35-minute charging time and an impressive range of up to 217 miles on a single charge.

“The California Edition stands out in a few ways compared to previous Verge models. First, the colorway is inspired by the California Poppy's brilliant orange color. The fairings on this bike also sport a dual-tone finish of orange and black and has custom California Edition branding on the side,” comments Verge Mototcycles Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Ville Piippo. "This limited edition motorcycle also comes with a large touch screen HMI that is customized to support special visuals each time the bike is turned on. We are confident that the California Edition will turn heads out on the open road, and we're very proud of the work our team put in to make this possible."

The California Edition will be produced in limited quantities, reflecting Verge Motorcycles' commitment to exclusivity. For those interested in placing an order or seeking more information, visit www.vergemotorcycles.com.

Looks promising. Like the specs and styling overall. Hate the look of the California badge -- want it to look more high-tech/modern.
