During the Volkswagen Group Night in Frankfurt, Germany, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali unveiled the new Monster 1200 R, the most powerful Ducati naked of all time, says the company.

At the heart of the Monster R is its Testastretta 11º Dual Spark V-Twin, which Ducati says puts out 160 hp. In its press release, Ducati mentions a “revised chassis to ensure maximum effect and enjoyment on track,” a nod to the company’s dedication to building motorcycles that can handle their own on the racetrack, even if the bikes themselves spend most of their lives on the street.

Additionally, the tail and front sections of the Monster 1200 R are revised slightly for a more sporting and aggressive look.

The Ducati Monster 1200 R will be available in Ducati Red and Thrilling Black, starting in early 2016. It will be exhibited for the first time September 15-20 in the Audi booth during the 2015 IAA (Internationale Automobilausstellung) in Frankfurt.
