Zero Motorcycles Unveils Revamped 2024 Product Line
All-new Model S headlines Zero’s 2024 model lineup
For 2024, Zero Motorcycles is streamlining its operations. Instead of separate platforms for bikes with and without a slash in their model names (we're looking at you SR/S, SR/F, DSR/X, DS, DSR, SR, and S), now Zero is putting its aging S and DS platforms out to pasture and adopting the superior SR/F platform for its next generation of street and dual sport models. Meanwhile, the smaller FX range will carry on for people who want a smaller bike for dirt or supermoto fun.
All-new Model S
The big announcement coming out of the Zero camp at EICMA 2023 is the arrival of an all-new Model S for 2024. Heavily influenced by the SR/F and SR/S models, the new model S shares the same basic platform as the SR/F and SR/S and completely distances itself from the previous Model S before it. With an all-new motor and new 14.4 kWh battery, Zero claims peak torque is 97 lb-ft, peak power is 68 hp, and top speed is 104 mph. What might make the Model S more appealing to consumers is its price. At $14,995, it’s getting closer to the realm the mainstream market might accept to pull the trigger on an electric motorcycle. The 2024 S joins the SR (exclusively for European markets), SR/F, and fully faired SR/S as the flagships in Zero’s model family.
There's a new DS, too.
Not to outdone, the dual-sport, or DS model from Zero also gets a facelift with the introduction of the next-generation of both the DS and DSR models. Like the Model S, that now shares a platform with the SR/F and SR/S, the DS and DSR now borrow their form figures from the DSR/X. That means the DSR gets a new 15.6 kWh battery and a new motor, culminating in a whopping 144 lb-ft of torque and 80 hp.
New A2 and A3 license-compliant versions
For our European readers, you’ll be happy to know that Zero is offering 11kw versions of the FXE, S, and DS, while the 2024 SR and DSR will be the company’s first models that are A2 compliant. What’s more, Zero dealers will also be able to install upgrades to achieve A3 license-compliant performance. In practical terms, that means Zero motorcycles can evolve with the rider as their license restrictions ease off.
In North America, the 2024 Model S is available for $14,995, the 2024 SR/F is available for $20,495, and the 2024 SR/S retails for $20,995. The North American dual sport motorcycles, beginning with the all-new DS, will sell for $15,995, the all-new DSR is available at $19,995, and the pinnacle electric adventure bike, the DSR/X, is available for $22,995. Additionally, the FXE returns for 2024 and retails at $12,495 and the popular FX sells for $12,495, as well.

Notice there is no mention of battery range which is the most important factor. More appealing price?
Yeah, at least an estimate or most-likely range would be helpful. I'm sure a motor/battery management system with currently available tech can have a positive effect on range, but the amount of space is the defining factor. Really like how they look!
