Harley-Davidson Trademarks "H-D Revelation" for Its Electric Powertrain

Harley-Davidson has filed a trademark application to use the name “H-D Revelation” for its upcoming electric motorcycle technology. The trademark was filed with the U.S. Patent Trademark Office for use on batteries and chargers as well as powertrains, specifically motors, transmissions and electric drives, but not for as a model name for a whole motorcycle.

Harley-Davidson To Close Kansas City Manufacturing Plant

Harley-Davidson, the world’s largest and most iconic manufacturer of heavyweight motorcycles, announced yesterday its fourth quarter and full-year results for 2017, which saw a steep 82% decrease in Q4 net income to just $8.3 million compared to $47.2 million the year before. In addition to that announcement, the Motor Co. declared that it would be shutting down the Kansas City, Missouri manufacturing plant, leaving up to 800 H-D employees without jobs by July 2019.

Harley-Davidson Suing Affliction for Allegedly Infringing on the Bar-and-Shield Trademark

Harley-Davidson has reportedly filed a lawsuit against clothing brand Affliction alleging it is selling T-shirts with designs that resemble its Bar-and-Shield logo. According to a report by the Milwaukee Business Times, Harley-Davidson filed suit against the California-based clothing company in the U.S. District Court for Eastern Wisconsin.
