MV Agusta Announces Brutale 1000 RR Assen
MV Agusta adds another chapter to its collection of limited-edition motorcycles with the unveiling of the Brutale 1000 RR Assen. This new motorcycle pays tribute to MV Agusta's remarkable history at the iconic Assen circuit, also known as the "cathedral of speed," where the brand has achieved thirty-five victories, making it the most successful Italian manufacturer and the third overall in terms of victories at this historic Dutch track.
Despite almost half a century passing since MV Agusta's last win at Assen in 1976, the allure of the Dutch track and the MV Agusta legacy endure. The Brutale 1000 RR Assen is meticulously crafted to honor those glorious racing days. Only 300 numbered units of this motorcycle will be hand-built in Italy, creating a exclusive limited edition run.
The technical foundation for the Brutale 1000 RR Assen is based on the 2023 version of the Brutale 1000 RR, featuring several technical updates, including an electronic gearbox for smoother and quicker shifting due to hardware and software enhancements. The motorcycle is powered by a high-performance 998 cc in-line four-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 208 hp (153 kW) at 11,000 rpm and 116.5 Nm at 11,000 rpm. With a dry weight of 186 kg (197 kg curb weight), it achieves an impressive weight-to-power ratio of 1.1 hp/kg.
The "Assen" model boasts a distinctive color scheme combining blue (Blu Nordico), silver (Argento Ago), and gold, creating an elegant and sporty appearance that highlights the motorcycle's meticulous attention to detail and high-quality technical components. The motorcycle incorporates lightweight Rotobox carbon fiber wheels with fine spokes, carbon fiber heat shields for exhaust manifolds, and various other stylistic and functional elements in the tank area.
The frame features aluminum side plates and a single-sided swingarm in silver, contrasting with the dark tone of the steel tube trellis. The seat is upholstered in blue Alcantara, enhancing the uniqueness of this motorcycle, which also includes a two-tone blue and silver tank with a polished finish.
As part of the special edition package, the Special Parts Kit further enhances the motorcycle's power and exclusivity while reducing weight. This kit includes elegant titanium Arrow tailpipes with a dedicated control unit, black CNC-machined brake and clutch levers, a carbon fiber passenger seat cover, and a unique two-tone gold and black aluminum fuel cap. The package is completed with a motorcycle cover and a certificate of authenticity.

KTM currently only owns 25.1% of MV. They do indeed want to own the whole thing and MV fans around the world are very concerned about what that might mean to the brand.
