Kawasaki to Reveal 16 Models on June 6

A video running on Kawasaki.com shows carefully crafted silhouettes of four motorcycles and one UTV, while Kawasaki USA's social media pages have been offering more clues about the new models.

Several clues appear to be for new models we have previously reported were in the works, including an updated Ninja ZX-6R, and an Eliminator 450. Meanwhile, our sister site, ATV.com, found evidence suggesting a new line of 999cc Mule UTVs are also on the way.

We've got enough to clues to have a good idea of what to expect on June 6.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R

On Twitter, Kawasaki posted a brief video showing two motorcycles and the caption "Your supersport obsession begins," and the above silhouette is on Kawasaki's home page.

From recently updated EPA data, we know Kawasaki certified two new model codes: ZX636JR and ZX636KR, which obviously represent a next generation ZX-6R. From the two model codes, we are assuming Kawasaki is following the pattern it established with the ZX-10R and ZX-4R, in introducing a ZX-6R and an up-spec ZX-6RR.

Looking at the silhouette, we note some obvious similarities to the 2023 model, though it does look like the fairing under the Ninja's jutting chin slopes down at a steeper angle than the current ZX-6R.

While Kawasaki has continued to offer the ZX-6R in the U.S., the model has been discontinued in Europe and other markets where it does not meet local emissions levels. The new model is expected to comply with regulations, and indeed, Kawasaki Spain's Instagram account has already posted a teaser with the caption "Adivina quién vuelve..." or "Guess who's coming back..."

The updated model may also result in the 636cc ZX-6R getting homologated to compete in the new World Supersport regulations.

2024 Kawasaki Eliminator 450

One of the silhouettes shows some retro styling and a cruiser-like rake angle that looks a lot like the new Eliminator 400 that Kawasaki announced for Japan earlier this year. As we previously reported, the California Air Resources Board recently certified a model with a 451cc engine with the model codes EL450AR, EL450BR, EL450CR, and EL450DR, which we believe represents a line of Eliminator models with a larger engine for North American markets.

We expect the Eliminator 450 to look similar to its Japanese counterpart, and the silhouette confirms this. Details like the headlight mounting bracket, the shape of the fork tubes and the pillion seat appear almost identical to the 400 model, pictured below.

What else will Kawasaki announce?

That's all the clues that Kawasaki has offered so far, but we know we're still well short of the promised 16 models. We suspect one of the models will be the 2024 Ninja ZX-10RR. The updated ZX-10RR with variable intake funnels is already available in Europe and homologated for the World Superbike championship, so it's a likely candidate to be announced June 6.

We also know that the California Air Resources Board has certified a model codenamed ER650RR. We expect this will be for the Z650RS, giving the retro model the same electronic upgrades already available for the Versys, Z, and Ninja 650 models.

Other possible candidates include the final production versions of the electric Z and Ninja, but absent any hard evidence, we expect Kawasaki will save its first electric models for EICMA.

Kawasaki will probably release a few more teasers in the weeks ahead, leading up to the June 6 reveal date. We will have all the latest information as it becomes available.
