KTM has officially confirmed it will launch the new 1290 Super Adventure on Sept. 30 at the Intermot show in Cologne. To tide us over until then, KTM released this official image of the adventure-tourer and provided a few details, describing it as the “absolute pinnacle of luxury sport-touring riding.”

Based on its name, we assume the Super Adventure will use the same engine as the 1290 Super Duke R. KTM will only confirm that the engine is a larger displacement and produces more power and torque than the 1190 Adventure‘s powerplant. As we surmised from the spy photo we published earlier this month, the Super Adventure will also have a larger fuel tank than the 1190’s 6.1 gallon capacity.

Like the 1190, the new Super Adventure will come loaded with electronics, including the Bosch-developed Motorcycle Stability Control which allows ABS and traction control to work even when leaned over into a corner. That’s not all, however, as KTM says the 1290 Super Adventure will have “further absolutely unique electronically supported riding assistance equipment.”

We’ll have to wait until Intermot for KTM to reveal more official information about the 1290 Super Adventure.
