The Isle of Man government has launched a new app for the 2013 edition of its famous Tourist Trophy races. Available for free for iOS devices at the Apple App store (and soon to be available for Android on the Google Play store), the Isle of Man TT 2013 app offers racing fans a new way to interact with the world famous event.

The app offers a rolling news feed for the Isle of Man TT and its social media outlets as well as a live audio link to Manx Radio TT’s broadcast of interviews and commentary of qualifying sessions and races for this year’s event.

The Isle of Man TT 2013 app also offers profiles of the leading competitors and an interactive map of the fame Mountain Course with video voiced by a TT rider liason officer and race winner Richard “Milky” Quayle giving his tips on how to approach different sections of the course. Zero Motorcycles has released a new mobile phone app that can be used to adjust a motorcycle’s performance.

Available for Apple iOS and Android, the Zero Motorcycles App is compatible with all 2013 models as well as any future models. The app allows riders to connect their Zero motorcycles to their smartphones via Bluetooth, turning the phone into a dashboard displaying live data including speed, motor torque, battery charge level, estimated range and motor temperature.

Perhaps the most interesting feature however is the ability to adjust the performance characteristics of a motorcycle. Users can adjust a Zero motorcycle’s top speed, torque and regenerative braking levels to optimize battery life. Continue Reading »

Dainese is celebrating its 40th anniversary by launching a free iOS app showcasing the various leather racing suits from the company’s archives.

Available on iTunes, the Dainese 40 app traces the evolution of the company’s products, from the first back protector and knee sliders to Dainese’s new D-Air airbag suit.

Allstate Insurance Company has released a new iPhone app for motorcycle riders.

Available for free on the iTunes App store, the GoodRide by Allstate app can plan and log rides, keeping track of routes, time and mileage. The app can also be integrated with Facebook and Twitter so users can share information about their trip, including photographs and comments with their social network.

The GoodRide app also includes a maintenance log to keep track of work done on a user’s motorcycle. Other features include a weather tracker and gas station locator.

Now available in the iTunes App Store for $1.99, this motocross video game is already ranked as the top racing game and comes with many rave reviews.  You can race against others and even tweet your results are some of the cool features with this new app, not to mention the fast-paced, smooth and slick game play.  The first-time Swedish game designer, Tobias Andersson of Turboilla was obviously shocked with the immediate success.
