BMW Announces 2024 Color Updates and Intelligent Emergency Calling

Intelligent Emergency Call has been offered in other markets since the 2017 model year, and it will finally now be offered for North American customers, either as standard or as an optional accessory for several models. The system is comprised of a small module on the right handlebar with an integrated speaker and microphone and an emergency SOS button. When the button is pressed, or if onboard sensors detect a crash, the system calls an agent who can provide assistance or contact emergency services. The emergency call feature is activated upon new vehicle delivery to customers.

The returning models getting new colors and packages are listed below. What's interesting are the models that were not included in today's announcement. The S 1000 XR was not mentioned, but with BMW teasing a new M 1000 XR, we expect an updated S model will be announced alongside the M. The R NineT models are absent, which is no surprise, as its replacement, the R 12 NineT, has already been confirmed. And of course, there's the R 1250 GS, which will either be replaced by, or offered alongside, a new R 1300 GS.

Also missing from BMW USA's announcement is the C 400 X. The scooter was announced in other markets, which however.
