Press Release from Tamela Rich: As an expert on the region, Tamela Rich has recommended many Appalachian destinations in her TV appearances and social media streams. This coming June, Rich is leading a motorcycle tour of its Blue Ridge province on a five-day motorcycle tour.
The “Appalachian Mountains & Music Motorcycle Tour” commences at Front Royal, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley on Sunday, June 18. The tour ends in Little Switzerland, North Carolina on Friday, June 23 after a hearty breakfast.
“We will travel some of the most scenic and exciting roads of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina,” says Rich, who has traveled the region extensively since her childhood.
“The Blue Ridge Mountains are home to bucket-list rides for motorcyclists from all over the country. In addition to these iconic roads, the tour itinerary celebrates Appalachia’s rich history, its fusion of musical genres and dances, its distinctive cuisine, and its oral storytelling heritage.”
Sunday night the group will be serenaded by a Bluegrass trio in Mountain Quest Inn’s two-story library. Monday night, guests will be treated to music and storytelling by renowned musicians Wayne Henderson and Helen White, who have been honored by Congress and the White House, and who played for Queen Elizabeth when she visited Virginia in 2007. Additional stops include the Blue Ridge Music Center and its Roots of American Music Exhibit. Live musicians will be playing as part of the summer concert series.
Included in the tour:
• 5 Nights Hotel Accommodations
• 5 Dinners
• 5 Breakfasts
