Nitron USA has announced today that former racer, motojournalist, owner of too many cool shoes, and all-around good friend to the motorcycling community, Peter Jones, has joined Nitron USA as its Business Manager. Along with Technical Director Lenny Albin, Jones will help bring Nitron’s high-end motorcycle suspension components to the American market.

Based in the UK, Nitron’s suspension catalog covers a wide swath of motorcycling including sportbikes, adventure tourers and tourers, V-twins and baggers, and (gasp) four wheeled and custom applications. Geared towards the premium market, Nitron’s suspension components are constructed of CNC billet aluminum and come equipped with “a new level of finely tunable control and comfort.” This attention to detail comes through in the company’s policy of dyno testing each shock for quality control prior to release to the customer.

Guy Evans, Managing Director of Nitron, said, “We’re excited about our move into the USA markets, and have great confidence in this project now that we have Peter and Lenny representing us; both of whom are well established and highly respected in the industry, with decades of experience between them.”

Jones will run the East-Coast business office in Charlotte, NC while Albin with be stationed at the Nitron USA warehouse located at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT. The Tooele location will act as Nitron USA’s service center where the shocks will be assembled, sold and shipped to customers.

Like most of the best happenings in his life, Evans stumbled into his motojournalism career. While on his way to a planned life in academia, he applied for a job at a motorcycle magazine, thinking he’d get the opportunity to write some freelance articles. Instead, he was offered a full-time job in which he discovered he could actually get paid to ride other people’s motorcycles – and he’s never looked back. Over the 25 years he’s been in the motorcycle industry, Evans has written two books, 101 Sportbike Performance Projects and How to Modify Your Metric Cruiser, and has ridden just about every production motorcycle manufactured. Evans has a deep love of motorcycles and believes they are a force for good in the world.
