Erik Buell Racing released a photograph on its Facebook page teasing a new streetbike expected to be called the 1190RX.

Official details are sparse at the moment, but the new EBR 1190RX is expected to be a street-legal version of the 1190RS racebike, as the image (see the full version below) sports a pillion seat and pegs, mirrors, lighting and license plate holder.

The engine is expected to be based on the 1190cc liquid-cooled V-Twin equipped on the RS. EBR claims an output of 175 hp at 9750rpm and 97 ft-lb. at 9400 rpm for the racebike.

EBR’s official website lists three upcoming models, codenamed RX, SX and AX. As we’ve previously surmised, these codenames likely refer to an 1190RX streetbike, 1190SX standard and an 1190AX adventure-styled sport-tourer.

Last Friday, ahead of the AMA Pro Racing round at Laguna Seca, EBR posted a picture of its tent on Facebook with a caption confirming the RX is on its way.

The caption reads: “The truck is at Laguna Seca, set up in the paddock. Anyone coming, stop by and say hello. Also you can see one of the 2013 RS models under the tent… We are currently building 35 more of these handbuilt ones in advance of ramping up the full production line for the RX.”
