2012 Can-Am Spyder Roadster Lineup Announced
Bombardier Recreational Products announced its 2012 lineup of Can-Am Spyder Roadsters.
The 2012 Can-Am Spyder Roadster line consists of two RS models and four RT touring models. All 2012 models come with a new amber-colored display, with the RS models receiving an LCD screen while the RT models get a Dot-matrix screen.
The standard Can-Am Spyder RS gets a new higher-contrast amber-colored LCD display and a Steel Black Metallic color in addition to the returning Pearl White Metallic color.
The higher-performance RS-S model also gets the new LCD display as well as new gas-charged FOX Racing Shox front suspension with adjustable pre-load. According to BRP, the new suspension is 33% lighter than the stock Spyder RS shocks. Also new are carbon-black aluminum treated handlebars, foot pegs and suspension springs. The 2012 Can-Am Spyder RS-S will be available in Neutron Green Metallic with Satin Black, Can-Am Red with Satin Black or the returning from 2011 Pure Magnesium Metallic with Steel Black.
The 2012 RT touring lineup will again be offered in four variations, the base Can-Am Spyder RT, the RT Audio & Convenience, the RT S, and the RT Limited.
The base Can-Am Spyder RT gets a new amber Dot-matrix display said to offer improved clarity at night. The RT will be offered in Pure Magnesium Metallic.
A step up is the Can-Am Spyder RT Audio & Convenience package which adds a sound system, heated passenger hand grips, secondary gauges, push-button front cargo release and optional semi-automatic transmission. For 2012, the RT Audio & Convenience receives the new amber Dot-matrix display and a new Quantum Blue Metallic color to go alongside the returning Pure Magnesium Metallic.
The 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT-S has all the features of the RT Audio & Convenience but adds aluminum six-spoke wheels, electronically adjustable rear suspension, extra speakers, chrome trim, lamps and LED running lights, 3.5 mm audio player input and front cargo light and front liner. New for 2012 are the amber Dot-matrix display and a new Quantum Blue Metallic color option in addition to the returning Pure Magnesium Metallic.
The top-of-the-line 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited has all the features of the RT-S but adds a Garmin Zumo 660 navigation system,four semi-rigid travel bags and a travel cover. New features for 2012 include the new Dot-matrix display, aluminum six-spoke chrome wheels and chrome accents on the mirrors, heat shield and exhaust tip. Joining the returning Pearl White color is the new Lava Bronze Metallic with embroidered tan seat.
