The maker doesn’t want it; the buyer doesn’t use it; and the user doesn’t see it.

What is it? A coffin.

Fire Captain Corey Parks recently started a company called “Hot Rod Caskets,” designing and constructing custom coffins. There are four models so far; Black Betty, Hot Rod Classic, the Smoke Eater and the Lead Sled.

The styles of the caskets were inspired by his own profession but also by bikers. Parks explains the inspiration for the Hot Rod Classic,

When I first developed the idea for Hot Rod Caskets, this was the casket I envisioned building. Tread plate was the material I chose to incorporate with the symbol for bikers, hot-rodders, and free spirits everywhere – the iron cross.
