We know that regular MO readers are fans of the Isle of Man TT. Friend of MO, Andrew Capone, gives us annual posts from the event, and the analytics tell us that they are very popular. So, the release of the feature-length documentary film Tourist Trophy should spark more than a little interest among the fans. Over the course of 90+ minutes, viewers get the opportunity to get to know some of the variety of riders taking part in the 2022 Isle of Man TT. 

After a lengthy pandemic-caused delay, the 25th James Bond film, “No Time to Die” is finally going to premiere in a matter of weeks (Oct. 8 in the U.S.). Triumph was a partner for the film, supplying a Scrambler 1200 and a Tiger 900 for key action sequences in the movie.

We’ve written about the Wheels and Waves rally in southern France a few times, and it’s on the short list of rallies we’d like to attend, thanks to its location and the quality of motorcycles reputed to appear during the festivities.

If you’ve seen Deadpool, you’ll remember the chase and fight scene that took place on an urban expressway bridge. Naturally, the scene was made even better by having motorcycle-riding bad guys. This video shows that the coolest motorcycle in the fight wasn’t even seen. It was the camera platform. The production crew modified a Zero to carry a camera and all of its support technology in multiple positions on the motorcycle, giving fluid camera tracking in and out of both moving and stopped cars . The video is well worth a minute and forty seconds of your day.

Our Hollywood correspondent was behind the scenes of the new Ghostbusters 3 movie and sent us this image of the ECTO II motorcycle Bill Murray will be riding during a cameo appearance in the movie franchise reboot. Like the ECTO I from the original movie, as well as the forthcoming remake with an all-female cast, the ECTO II is a stylish vintage machine outfitted with proper ghostbusting munitions including forward-facing lasers, and a rear-mounted Proton Pack. The bike looks to be in good, original condition. Can anyone guess what model it is?

We recently stumbled across this surprisingly engaging video shot by Atlanta, Georgia-based actor Jayson Warner Smith. It chronicles a trip he took on his Triumph Bonneville to coincide with his 50th birthday that began as a two-week jaunt but transformed into a five-week odyssey.

“Why do you ride motorcycles?” is the most frequent and, perhaps, the most difficult question asked of motorcyclists. The old cliché of “If I have to explain, you won’t understand” is at its most apropos at these times. Motorcyclists have their own language. They share a common – yet uncommon – passion that is, in many ways, as mystical as the forces that keep our machines magically balanced on two wheels.
