BMW Produces Its Millionth Boxer GS and Officially Confirms R 1300 GS

Marking the brand's 100th anniversary, 2023 was already shaping up to be a momentous year for BMW Motorrad, but today, the company reached another big milestone: the production of the 1 millionth Boxer-engined GS. The landmark model, an R 1250 GS in Triple Black, continues a tradition that began in 1980 with the R 80 G/S, and for the first time, BMW officially confirmed that tradition will continue with the R 1300 GS.

Boxer-Engined BMW Cruiser Spotted in Germany

German website Motorrad has published a photograph of what appears to be a BMW bagger powered by a large Boxer engine has been spotted undergoing tests on public roads. The engine is believed to be based on the prototype “R18” engine that BMW showcased in December in the one-off “Departed” concept by Japanese builder Custom Works Zon (pictured above).

BMW Motorrad Concept Link Electric Scooter
