2024 BMW F 800 GS, F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure Announced for USA
It took a couple of months after they were first announced internationally, but the 2024 BMW F 800 GS, F 900 GS, and F 900 GS Adventure have now been confirmed for the U.S. market. The three middleweight adventure bikes are replacing the previous F 750/850 models, and offering a smaller-displacement alternative to the flagship R 1300 GS.
Safety Recall: Essential Safety Information for BMW R 18 Series Owners
BMW of North America, LLC is recalling a number of its motorcycles due to a headlight issue that compromises visibility. This recall specifically involves the BMW R 18 B, and R 18 Transcontinental models produced between 2021 and 2024 and equipped with adaptive headlights. The problem lies in the attachment points of the headlight's low beam, which may break. This defect could lead to the reflector shifting out of its intended position, resulting in weakened illumination.

The year 2023 has seen BMW Motorrad celebrating its Centenary as a motorcycle manufacturer, while also for the first time in the company’s history breaking through the 200K barrier in terms of annual production entering its anniversary year. In 2022, BMW saw 202,895 motorcycles and scooters sold – an increase of 4.4% compared to 2021. Germany remained the company’s largest single market, with 24,129 motorcycles and scooters sold there, while France also registered record sales with 21,223 vehicles delivered, 6.7% up on 2022. North America was the German company’s third largest market, with an 11% increase to 20,295 units sold, helped again by a record number of bikes delivered, this time in the USA (17,690 units/+10.4%).
2024 BMW R 12 NineT and R 12 - First Look
The R 12 cruiser has a steel tank in the blockier “toaster tank” design reminiscent of ’70s-era /5 models, and the side covers are unbadged. The R 12 comes standard with a solo seat and a rear fender. The seating position is more relaxed, with wider handlebars than the R 12 nineT.

Munich – Alexander Buckan will succeed Edgar Heinrich as the new head of BMW Motorrad Design, commencing on 1 January 2024. Edgar Heinrich, who has led BMW Motorrad’s Design division since 2012, is retiring after a 35-year tenure at the BMW Group.
