Harley-Davidson has filed trademark applications for two potential new logos for electric two-wheelers. The two trademarks were filed today with the European Union Intellectual Property Office, for use on either electric bicycles or electric motorcycles (plus “structural parts therefor”). We expect similar filings to pop up on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office any day now. [UPDATE: As expected, Harley-Davidson has filed trademark applications for these two logos with the USPTO. This also gives us a higher-resolution look at the two symbols.)

The Quail has announced details of its 2017 event, which you can read in its press release below. It reminded us of the time the MO crew was able to attend in 2012, and we were blown away by the incredible machinery spanning a century of Motorcycle evolution. We produced several videos that year, and you can see them in the link above. Since then, we’ve had great contributors provide us full reports of the 2014, 2015, and 2016 events. Freedom is likely the most oft-used word to describe the feeling of riding a motorcycle. For most, the first real taste of that sense of freedom was experienced while riding a bicycle, which, almost universally, was as a child. I loved the feeling of taking off on my bicycle to see and experience new things as I explored the exciting sensations of freedom on two wheels.
