2024 Kawasaki Z 7 Hybrid – First Look
And then there were two
We’re still wrapping our heads around Ninja 7 Hybrid, and now, Kawasaki has announced its second hybrid model, with a new Z version with the brand’s Sugomi naked styling.
The 2024 Kawasaki Z 7 Hybrid is similar to the Ninja version, using the same combination of a 451cc Twin and an electric motor working in a strong hybrid configuration. That means it can run on only gas, electric, or a combination of the two.
With the engine alone, the Z 7 Hybrid claims a peak output of 58.3 hp, but with the motor operating with the e-boost system that Troy found so enticing in his Ninja 7 review, the hybrid system combines to a net output of 68.5 hp. Combined torque output is a claimed 44.5 lb-ft.
Like the Ninja version, the Z 7 Hybrid has an automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the left switchgear. There’s also an electric “walk mode” for easier maneuvering in tight parking areas.
The suspension is similar to the Ninja version, with a 41mm telescopic fork and preload-adjustable Uni Trak linkage rear suspension. Dual 300mm discs are matched with two-piston calipers for the front wheel while the rear wheel makes use of a single 220mm disc and two-piston caliper.
Full specifications including weight remain to be revealed. We do know that the 2024 Kawasaki Z 7 Hybrid will be available in Europe in Spring 2024 in two color options: Metallic Bright Silver/Metallic Matte Lime Green/Ebony or Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray/Ebony/Metallic Graphite Gray. There’s no word on U.S. availability, but like the Ninja version, we don’t expect it to arrive until 2025 at the earliest.
