2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour First Look

Ducati has revealed the new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, a long-distance traveler designed for comfort and safety. Fully loaded with luggage, front and rear radars and creature comforts like heated grips and seats, Ducati describes it as the “most complete Multistrada V4 ever.” The 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour will land in dealerships very soon, with an MSRP of $28,395.



On paper, the GT model isn’t that much different than the regular Multistrada V4 S with the Travel & Radar Package, the only version of the V4 S offered in the U.S. They both come equipped with rigid panniers and the radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection. The Grand Tour adds a center stand, heated grips and seats, auxiliary LED lighting, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The Grand Tour does borrow some elements introduced on the Rally model. Ducati says it removed the rubber mountings from the handlebar top clamp, a change introduced on the V4 Rally to improve feedback without sacrificing comfort. The passenger seat is also the same as on the Rally model, designed to provide better support on long trips. Despite the Grand Tour name, the fuel tank remains the same 5.8 gallon capacity as the regular V4 S and not the larger 7.9 gallon tank of the Rally model.


The Grand Tour also receives additional heat shielding on the swingarm and left side of the subframe, plus closeable ducts in the leg area.


The engine remains the same 1,158cc V4 Granturismo as the other Multistrada models, with a claimed peak output of 170 hp at 10,500 rpm and 92 lb-ft. at 8,750 rpm. The electronics package is also the same, with IMU-based cornering ABS, traction control, cornering lights, and vehicle hold control.


The semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension system is also standard, with an auto-leveling function. A minimum preload function lets the rider manually lower the ride height when stopping or traveling at low speeds, while an easy lift function uses the suspension hydraulics to assist in lifting the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour off the side stand.



The 6.5-inch TFT dashboard comes equipped with a phone-mirroring navigation system like the rest of the Multistrada V4 lineup. A dedicated ventilated storage compartment on the fuel tank is designed to fit most smartphones.


The 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour comes in a special gray livery. With a starting price of $28,395, it’s about $1,200 more than the V4 S with Touring & Radar Package, which makes us wonder whether it’ll fully replace it in the U.S., as Ducati already reordered the Multistrada models on its U.S. website to put the V4 S behind the V2 S.

    It feels like there are too many models in the Multistrada line. My guess is Ducati wants to have a model to compete favorably with every adventure/touring motorcycle on the market. I would want a 17" front wheel, 30-liter gas tank, upgraded seat, and a heat shield, but Ducati doesn't make that model . . . yet. BTW - Shouldn't every Multi have a heat shield?

    Why is it that this bike saddled with a high mount exhaust? It’s called a Grand Tour, which is certainly not a dirt oriented moniker and almost certainly is not destined for much more than the odd gravel road. The luggage capacity is completely neutered by the presence of the muffler. It makes no sense unless you have a love affair with the right side of the swing arm.

    At least Honda did it right with the Trans Alp.
