Help Keep Trail Building Efforts Alive And Earn A Chance To Win A Custom KTM 350 EXC-F

5 Bucks a Foot Presents “Twist the Throttle for Trails”

Begin press release:

Thanks to SBTS partner, KTM and Motorcycle Performance Center (MPC) in Roseville, CA, with help from Nevada County Woods Riders (NCWR), this 50-state, street-legal dirt bike is one of the most sought after off-road machines in existence; a plated moto you can legally ride to the trails.

Because this is a very special bike for a special cause of creating more #dirtmagic for all to enjoy, this particular KTM will sport an aftermarket skid plate, handguards, front and rear rotor guards, heat shield, grab handle, Dunlop tires, bike stand, NoToil air filters and a filter kit, and a $500 credit from Motion Pro for tools. The bike will also feature some customized Connected Communities graphics to make it stand out from every other 350 EXC-F on the trail. And what’s a new bike without fresh new gear to sport with it? Thanks to SBTS’ friends at Fasthouse, the winner of the bike will also receive a full apparel kit, as well as soft luggage bags from Giant Loop.

How it Works

For those unfamiliar with the 5 Bucks a Foot program, this fundraising campaign will run between Tuesday, October 11 to Tuesday, November 22, and for every foot of trail purchased at $5 per foot (the average cost of building a trail), participants get entered for a chance to win. The more feet of trail you buy, the better your chances of winning. Unfortunately, international supporters are unable to participate in this campaign, as entrants must reside in the U.S. The winner also must come to SBTS headquarters in Quincy, CA to receive the bike and transfer title, which you’ll want to do anyway because along with the bike, you’ll receive a guided tour of the Lost Sierra featuring hundreds of miles of moto-legal singletrack! That’s a 3-day, 2-night trip through Connected Communities towns aboard a new KTM bike with Giant Loop luggage bags to transport your gear and decked out in a Fasthouse riding kit on this multi-day adventure for the winner.

A Fundraiser to Build Moto Trails

Unlike many other regions in California where motorized trail access is shrinking, the Northern Sierra Nevada region is expanding access thanks to SBTS partners in the Tahoe, Plumas, Lassen and Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forests. The region is blessed to have avid moto riders with strong club membership, and even racers working for the Forest Service, including Paul Hart, trails manager for the Yuba River Ranger District, who’s also a pro moto racer. He races in the Score International World Desert Championship, Pro Moto Ironman Class. This includes the San Felipe 250, Baja 500, Baja 400 and the legendary Baja 1000. He’s a bonafide asskicker on the bike and on the trails. You can follow him racing the Baja 1000 on November 15-20 while you dream about winning this KTM!

From the raw and technical trails of Downieville to the fast flowing singletracks of Burlington Ridge in Nevada City, Prosser in Truckee and the expanding Mount Hough in Quincy, the Sierra Nevada in Northern California has some of the best moto-legal singletrack this side of Idaho. And with the continued efforts of the SBTS Connected Communities Project connecting 15 mountain communities across four counties with 600+ miles of trail that will become the Lost Sierra Route, motorized adventures will be unforgettable, especially for whoever ends up winning this customized 5 Bucks a Foot KTM!

Twist the Throttle for Trails this fall with the 5 Bucks a Foot program by purchasing as many feet of trail as you can, and maybe you’ll get to sample all the #dirtmagic goodies in the Lost Sierra on your brand new KTM! Enter Tuesday, October 11th to Tuesday, November 2nd, before 11pm PST, 2022. Raffle link here.
