BORGO PANIGALE (Bologna, Italy) – June 22, 2018 – The Ducati Scrambler Land of Joy and its many fun initiatives is a must for the busy programme of events confirmed for WDW2018 to take place from 20 to 22 July at the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit.

During the first day, Friday 20 July, the opening event of WDW will be the Flat Track Race featuring the Ducati race-track riders. Andrea Dovizioso, who won the 2016 edition, Troy Bayliss, Danilo Petrucci, Jack Miller and Michele Pirro are among the riders who will take part in the race with a racetrack-configured Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro. The challenge will take place on the kilometre-long track of the Misano Arena where the riders will give thrilling displays of drifting in what promises to be a fun and entertaining event.

During the three days of the rally the Scrambler Village will be brought to life by all sorts of different activities, including plenty of musical events. Live music and live episodes of Scrambler Radio will take turns on the Scrambler stage, so that even those who haven’t made it to the event can follow in real time. Once again the yellow Scrambler School Bus will feature at the Village and, for the occasion, a photographic studio will be set up inside to take images of all the Scrambler riders present. The photos taken will contribute to the first Ducati Scrambler book planned to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the brand.

An area of the Land of Joy will be dedicated exclusively to the new Ducati Scrambler 1100 which, together with all the other models of the range will be available to visitors for test rides. Other fun initiatives include the opportunity to ride at the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track School for a memorable experience learning to dirt track drifting in total safety with a Ducati Scrambler Sixty2, that has been modified specially for the occasion.

As at the previous edition, WDW2018 will host the official prize-giving of the “Custom Rumble” contest, dedicated to the best special versions of Ducati Scramblers. The four Custom finalists in the Best Dealer, Best Private Customizer, Best Customer and Best Rookie categories will be on display and a jury of experts will declare the winning Ducati Scrambler in the on-stage prize-giving ceremony.

The Scrambler Silodrome will be another fun focus point – a wooden cylindrical structure within which three daring stuntmen will each ride a Ducati Scrambler along the vertical wall of the Colosseum, displaying extraordinary acrobatic motorcycle moves at various times throughout each day of the rally.
Another unmissable feature of the Land of Joy is the area dedicated to street food, fundamental aspect of the brand’s philosophy. Drinks and gourmet sandwiches will be served from food trucks to delight the palates of participants.

Last but not least among the Ducati Scrambler attractions at the 2018 World Ducati Week is a hot-air balloon which, safely fixed to the ground with special ropes, will rise about a hundred metres into the air, giving passengers the opportunity for a unique viewpoint on WDW from above.
