AUSTIN, TX – April 25, 2018 – The team at Revival Cycles is excited to declare that the 5th year of the The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show was a resounding success! A new era of the show was kicked started by moving it to The Austin American Statesman, a much larger venue in the heart of Downtown Austin. This not only made it biggest and most ambitious Handbuilt Show to date, but arguably the best.

The show festivities began with a kick start party on the night of Thursday April 19th at the boutique South Congress Hotel where hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts and builders filled the hotel bar and pool deck and enjoyed cocktails surrounded by some of the bikes that they would later see at the show.

The official first day of the show was Friday April, 20th where hundreds of Handbuilt Show fans patiently waited outside the gates for the doors to open at the new venue. Once inside, the reactions of shock and awe could be seen on the faces of attendees. With three times the space, there were 150 motorcycles and much more capacity which greatly reduced lines and gave you a much better view of the gallery of the hand-built machines. The Wall of Death again returned to entertain fans with their signature wall riding daredevil antics, but this time with a beautiful backdrop of the Austin skyline along the Colorado River.

For the first time, The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show was live streamed on YouTube thanks to Progressive. The Revival team was excited to share the show with fans all over the world who could not attend by not only streaming bikes and scenes from the show, but also in-depth interviews with builders and designers. These interviews will soon be living on Revival’s YouTube channel.

The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show ran through Sunday April 22nd and throughout the weekend 30,000 “motonerds” passed through the gates. The event was capped off with a party at the Revival Cycles workshop Sunday night, where enthusiasts and builders could share the experiences of the weekend while exploring the newly expanded work space where team Revival builds their creations.

Revival Cycles would like to thank their supporters, fans, and of course this years sponsors BMW Motorrad USA, Progressive insurance, Rev’It, Rizoma, Circuit of the Americas, Moto Guzzi, Yamaha, Alpinestars, Ohlins, Royal Enfield, Jet Tools, and Michael Hsu Architecture.
