AMA EAGLES Workshop offered to members during Daytona Bike Week
First AMA Road Captain Workshop to be held remotely

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — American Motorcyclist Association members will have access to two types of training during Daytona Bike Week this year.

An AMA EAGLES workshop is scheduled for March 14 at the Best Western International Speedway Hotel, 2620 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach, Fla. AMA Volunteer and State Chapters Manager Marie Wuelleh will lead the workshop from 3-5:30 p.m.

AMA EAGLES (Education, Activism, Growth, Leadership, Expertise, Skills) is an advocacy and leadership program that empowers members with knowledge, tools and resources tailored to their interests. Members learn about the AMA and become better grassroots activists and membership advocates.

“The AMA is lucky to have many members who volunteer their time at AMA events and promote the AMA’s mission to promote the motorcycle lifestyle and protect the future of motorcycling,” Wuelleh said. “We are happy to be able to provide an opportunity to train our best advocates in-person during Daytona Bike Week.”

Members must register before the session at www.americanmotorcyclist.com > For Members > AMA EAGLES > Attend In-Person EAGLES Training.

The workshop is limited to 12 participants, and those who complete the program will leave with an AMA EAGLES patch.

An AMA Road Captain Workshop will be offered at the same location from 6-8 p.m. March 14.

“Many types of AMA-sanctioned rides, such as poker runs or road runs, require a well-prepared group ride leader,” Wuelleh said. “This workshop provides an opportunity to learn about planning the route, completing paperwork, preparing for emergencies, using proper hand signals and other actions that provide for a better group ride.”

Road Captain workshops typically are held at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio. This event marks the first time the workshop will be held off-site. It is available free to AMA members.

Participants must be current AMA members and must register for the workshop at www.americanmotorcyclist.com > For Members > AMA Road Captain Workshop. It is limited to 24 participants.
