Valentino Rossi has ridden his entire career wearing Dainese and AGV. The Sky Racing Team VR46 has just partnered with Dainese and AGV for a fifth consecutive year. Team riders across all levels of Grand Prix racing will be outfitted in Dainese’s D-air airbag system and the AGV Pista GP R helmet.

Begin Press Release:

The Sky Racing Team VR46 riders will take to the track protected by D-air®, the Dainese branded airbag system that constitutes state-of-the-art protective technology, the first used in the world championship back in 2007.

Thanks to its electronic platform and algorithm, the true brain and intelligence of the system, D-air® is able to identify dangerous situations and decide whether or not to initiate activation should there be a high-side or low-side. If activated, special airbags are inflated around the rider’s body, covering the neck, shoulders and collarbones. The 3D airbag bag is the heart of the system and the result of proprietary Dainese technology. It allows for controlled inflation across the entire surface owing to its inner micro-filament structure, which ensures both maximum protection and comfort given that it molds to the body and shape of the rider. The bag’s patent-protected construction is unique, differing from every other bag used in the automotive industry.

The technical equipment for riders Bagnaia, Marini, Bulega and Foggia will be completed with the innovative AGV Pista GP R helmet. An evolution of the innovative Pista GP helmet used in MotoGP, it is the most protective helmet ever developed.

The perfect synthesis of protection, performance and comfort, the three cornerstones of AGV Extreme Standards development protocol, the Pista GP R offers an unparalleled field of vision through the introduction of Race 3 Max Pinlock®, a Class 1 Optic visor with 100% Max Vision Pinlock® (120), and is distinguished by its patented Visor Lock System (VLS) fastening. With the use of the new wind tunnel-tested Biplane spoiler, aerodynamic performance is maximized. Comfort is guaranteed by a patented system of interiors and the Integrated Ventilation System (IVS). The Pista GP R is the first helmet to offer an integrated hydration system composed of a series of channels and a valve positioned on the inside of the chin piece.

“It is with great enthusiasm that Dainese and AGV renew this important collaboration with Sky Racing Team VR46,” said Marco Pastore, Racing Director for the Dainese Group. “It will be an important season, also because of the introduction of mandatory airbag systems across all of the World Championship categories. Dainese was the first to develop and introduce highly innovative

D-air® technology, enabling our riders to move ever closer to their limits, in maximum safety. This is just one more reason to proudly support these young talents, the real promise for the future of motorcycling following on the heels of Valentino Rossi, a career-long Dainese and AGV rider.”
