NHDRO Prepares To Roll Into Gateway Motorsports Park June 9-11

NHDRO Rolling into Gateway

America’s fastest growing motorcycle drag racing series is bringing its two-wheeled, 220 miles per hour road show into the St. Louis area with the NHDRO Schwartz & Schwartz Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park, June 9-11. Sponsored by St. Louis defense attorney and Sportsman racing superstar Kenny Schwartz, the Nationals will feature large fields of the world’s fastest streetbikes, mega-horsepower wheelie bar bikes, down-to-the-wire index and bracket battles, and the kind of Grudge Racing Chaos that only St. Louis can offer.

Headlining the event are the turbocharged, seven hundred horsepower, street legal brutes of McIntosh Machine & Fabrication Pro Street. St. Charles-based Quicktime Motorsports and team boss Rudy Sanzottera will be rolling up their sleeves to defend their home turf from invaders like Muncie winner Doug Gall, Indy’s Justin Doucet, Gabe Frederick, Mike “Kavos” Kovacevich, Memphis Man Cup number one qualifier Ryan Hable and more.

Sanzottera also races HMH Motorsports Pro Open, riding the no-bar Suzuki Hayabusa campaigned last year by his late father Marty, AKA Pops. Rudy will face champion Chris Cutsinger and his big tire ‘Busa Funnybike, May winner Mark Rendeluk and his nitrous-huffing PXM bike, Ron Maddox on his Kawasaki turbo Funnybike, and a whole posse of TomBo bikes out of the Oklahoma City shop of legendary builder/tuner Tommy Bolton.

Quicktime Motorsports/Lindeman Performance Pro Ultra 4.60 is a razor-quick, fast growing class of the world’s quickest two-wheeled index class. May winner Smokin’ Joe Rodney, Muncie winner Dan McCarten, champion Chase Morris. Fast Times team boss Jeff Jones and more will all be vying for the win.

Iowa’s Bruce Damewood scored the G&G Metal Spinners Top Gas win in May and will be looking for another one at Gateway. He’ll have to deal with St. Louis Top Gas Killers Heather Baldi and Mike Wagner, perennial Top Gas champion Greg Mallett, Jeremy Teasley on his trick ‘Busa streetbike, and more.

Will John “Spooky” Markham make it three straight Route 21 Street Fighter wins? Not if defending champion Dustin “Biscuits” Lee, past champ Ron “Jiu-Jitsu” Arnold and more can stop him.

May M2.Shocks Crazy 8s winner Wes Brown, Muncie winner Lee, Ben “Expanding My Resume” Knight, and more will all be vying for the Gateway win in the 8.88 index class.

Defending Millennium Trailers Super Comp champ Markham runs that class on his wheelie bar dragbike, but faces a lot of no-bar heroes racing for the 8.90 crown.

All of the sportsman racers above—and more, including Stephen Knight, Spencer Claycomb, Scott Kauffman, Bradley Shellhaas, and Dalton Markham—will fight for wins on Saturday and Sunday in Kevin Dennis Insurance Street ET and MPS Pro ET. The big guys and gals will also have Friday night’s “Running of the Bulls” heavy hitters race to contend in.

APE/Trac King Grudge should see its busiest night yet this year. Don’t forget that Gateway is the home of the original St. Louis Chaos. NHDRO regular Whip will be racing his “Black Magic” against Willie Will, Canman will race his “Hi Ho Silver” against Shane on “Kapone,” and just like 2005, MSP will be in the house with “Clean Getaway” and “Venom.” Will Keith “Shine” Dennis make the short trip from Memphis to Gateway?
