Brake Free surpasses $50,000 goal on Indiegogo just 15 days into campaign

San Jose, CA, April 24, 2017 — Brake Free, the world’s first autonomous brake light for motorcyclists, has surpassed its $50,000 goal just 15 days into their Indiegogo campaign.

Brake Free is a one-of-a-kind high-visibility LED helmet accessory that has commanded attention from both the riding community and the press.

“A bright red LED at their eye level that gets even brighter every time you slow down could make the difference between getting to your destination or winding up on in the hospital or worse,” writes Bruce Brown of Digital Trends.

Using sensors to detect braking, it is completely wireless, and requires no connection to the motorcycle’s electronics. No matter how the rider slows down: braking, engine braking or downshifting, Brake Free lights up automatically to alert surrounding drivers.

“’Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic,’ and Brake Free uses sufficiently advanced technology to automatically detect braking without being fooled by the rider turning their head or any other motions,” writes Dan Carney of Maxim.

Mounted on the back of a helmet, Brake Free is at eye level so all surrounding drivers will see the rider to drastically improve rider visibility to surrounding drivers, day and night.

Brake Free’s 100 LED lights stay on no matter what, giving riders a new point of visibility on top of their passive reflective gear and motorcycle’s small tail light. Uncrate observes correctly, “It makes you more visible to other motorists whether you’re braking or not.”

With Brake Free receiving great press and coverage from Maxim, Uncrate, Riders Domain, HiConsumption, Bless This Stuff, RideApart, and Motorcycle.com, Brake Free has already reached their $75,000 stretch goal to unlock a highly requested all black version of the unit. They still have 11 days left of the campaign.

Brake Free continues to seek additional funding until the campaign concludes on May 4th, 2017. Two additional stretch goals can be unlocked, including an all white version of the unit and a bigger battery at $100,000 and $150,000 respectively.

About Brake Free

Brake Free Technologies was founded in May 2014 in San Jose, California. Shortly after graduating from San Jose State University, Alex Arkhangelskiy got a chance to apprentice under a successful Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Dave Hadden. Alex learned the ins and outs of product development by working first-hand on Dave’s products. While doing market research for one of

his new ideas, an autonomous brake light for car drivers, Alex realized that this would be the perfect product for motorcycle riders and Brake Free was born.
