According to this Tampa Bay Times article, a Largo, FL, man won’t be standing trial for murder, as injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash have rendered him incompetent. Roman Izzo, a US Army Major, was charged with killing the ex-husband of his wife in November, 2011, over a child custody dispute.
Rizzo had been free on bail since August, 2014 according to the Times, and crashed his motorcycle into the back of a car on I-275 in November, 2015. A hearing is scheduled to determine if Rizzo’s mental competency seems likely to change in the future.
