The AMA Supermoto National Championship Series heads to downtown Sturgis South Dakota for the fourth annual Metzler Sturgis Supermoto, July 1-2. A fan and rider favorite, the event promises two days of racing, festivities and fireworks over Fourth of July weekend.

The weekend kicks off with some exhibition races on Friday, July 3, starting with the Team Race. A tradition at Sturgis, the Team Race offers no shortage of drama as riders pair up for glory relay style. After that the future of Supermoto takes center stage for the Kid’s 50cc race followed by the Amateur and Pro Brawls where the Pro riders will duke it out for some extra cash.

Another Sturgis tradition – the Charity Pre-Race Party at the Knuckle Saloon and Brewery – gets underway after Friday’s on-track action. Meet your favorite riders as they bartend and wait tables for tips all going towards a good cause. There’s no shortage of fun with wheel-barrel racing and the dunk-tank challenge. This year’s proceeds go to benefit 11-year-old Riley Vasknetz who is about to undergo one of many surgeries on July 13th to correct growth development.
