Brothers Ben and Tom Birchall won their fourth Sure Sidecar TT, finding some redemption after retiring from the first race earlier this week.

The second Sidecar TT opened with the Birchall boys battling Dave Molyneux and his passenger Daniel Sayle, with the latter team holding a 1-second lead after the first lap. Race 1 winners John Holden and Andrew Winkle were another four seconds behind in third.

The Birchalls gained the lead by their second time past Glen Helen and began putting some space behind them, finishing the second lap with a 6.2-second advantage over Molyneux and Sayle.

Any hope of a final-lap surge for Molyneux and Sayle ended at Ballig Bridge as they were forced to retire for the second time this week. That left the Birchalls with a sizeable lead, completing the race with an overall time of 58:43.187, averaging a speed of 115.658 mph. Holden and Winkle finished second, averaging 114.398 mph while Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance took third with an average speed of 113.811 mph.
