Bryan Smith has yet again proven that he is the “King of the Mile” by taking his first win of the 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track season in dominating fashion at the Arizona Mile in Phoenix. Smith put his Kawasaki Ninja 650 powered machine across the finish line with a 12.646 second margin of victory.

The Valley of the Sun lived up to its name this Saturday with temperatures climbing above the 100 degree mark. The sweltering heat wasn’t a factor for Smith, who started off the day by winning his heat race by almost 11 seconds and placing the No. 42 Kawasaki on pole position. Looking at the inaugural Main Event at Turf Paradise, Smith leapt off the line and dove into Turn 1 in first and never looked back. Smith lead every lap, taking a flawless victory from a flawless day in Arizona. Kawasaki powered machines took four of the top-five positions, with Cory Texter, Henry Wiles and Sammy Halbert crossing the line third, fourth and fifth respectively.

“It was pretty interesting,” said Smith. “It might’ve looked easy but it was an absolute handful out there. As soon as you thought you had everything together you’d catch a rut, your front-end would tuck and you’d about crash. No matter how easy it looked it was work every lap. My hat’s off to the entire team. This is the best Kawasaki Ninja 650 bike I’ve ever had and we stepped our game up this year in every department.”
