Planning continues on the final event of the 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track schedule. September 23-25 2016, Ramspur Winery Santa Rosa Mile Promoters Terry Otton and Steve DeLorenzi strive once again to make this event special for the sport, the fans, the teams and the riders. With special touches you will not experience at other events, this year’s season finale will prove to be a must-attend race.

Last year this promotional team, through their involvement with the Ramspur Winery Calistoga Half Mile, announced Triumph Motorcycles would become the first OEM to sponsor an AMA Pro event in over many years! Sadly the event had to be cancelled due to wild fires in the region.

“Once again, we are honored to have Triumph Motorcycles as our Presenting sponsor,” said Terry Otton. “With their rich heritage in professional Flat Track racing and a strong Triumph Brand following in Northern California we welcome and thank Triumph Motorcycles for their support of the season’s penultimate event – the Ramspur Winery Santa Rosa Mile season finale and Flat track showcase, which will set the stage for 2017! This commitment clearly defines their place in our sport; Past, Present and Future!”

Triumph Motorcycles returned to professional flat track racing in 2012 after a lengthy absence. As one of the support sponsors of Bill Gately’s Bonneville Performance/Castrol/Triumph Factory Flat Track Team, Triumph Motorcycles looks forward to their continued support of their team as well as the sport.

“With Triumph’s history and heritage in Flat Track racing, we are really excited to be the presenting sponsor of the final round of the AMA Pro Flat Track Schedule at Santa Rosa Fairgrounds,” said Matt Sheahan, COO of Triumph Motorcycles America. “Ramspur Winery puts on a tremendous event and we are looking forward to a great weekend of racing.”

Triumph Motorcycles has a history of success at the Santa Rosa Mile. The facility has played host to AMA Pro Flat Track four times, from 1968 – 1970 and once again in 2012. AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Chuck Palmgren won the 1969 contest for Triumph after his teammate, motorcycle racing legend Gary Nixon, crashed out of the race. With the competition heating up, this year’s event is sure to be another barnburner worthy of the history books.

“We are delighted for AMA Pro Flat Track to be returning to Northern California, and our many fans in the region can expect a fantastic show,” said Michael Lock, CEO of AMA Pro Racing. “We are excited to partner with such progressive promoters and appreciate Triumph’s support of our season finale.”

The race weekend is more than a one-day race. This is a full three days of fast fun. Racing starts on Friday September 23rd with Amateur Short Track races in the Chris Beck Arena. Saturday, the excitement continues with an action packed Pro-Am Short Track day. Sunday is reserved for the AMA Pro Flat Track grand finale on the Santa Rosa Mile.
