Hot on the heels of the company’s incredible success in the debut season of the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship in 2015, Yamaha Motor USA has again been named as an Official Manufacturer of the 2016 championship.

Led by Monster Energy/Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Cameron Beaubier’s 2015 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship, Yamaha also won titles in Superstock 1000 (Jake Gagne/Roadrace Factory Yamaha), Supersport (JD Beach/Y.E.S. Graves Yamaha) and Superstock 600 (Joe Roberts/Meen Motorsports Yamaha) – winning each and every race in 2015.

In addition to coming on board as an Official Manufacturer, Yamaha is also the title sponsor of round four of the series at VIRginia International Raceway, May 13-15, and the season finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park, September 9-11, with the events now titled the Yamaha Superbike Challenge of Virginia and Yamaha Superbike Challenge of New Jersey, respectively.

Yamaha is the all-time leader in AMA road race victories with over 500 wins and the company’s on-track success of late is unmatched – six Superbike titles in the last six years. This season Beaubier will attempt to win his second successive Superbike title (and Yamaha’s seventh straight) on his YZF R-1 with one of his main rivals set to be teammate Josh Hayes, the four-time AMA Superbike Champion.

“Yamaha is proud to support the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship, not only with the continued, active involvement of our official factory and bLU cRU-supported racing teams, but also by serving as title sponsor of the upcoming event at VIRginia International Raceway and the season-ending event at New Jersey Motorsports Park,” said Mike Doughty, General Manager of Motorcycle Sales and Marketing Operations for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. “Racing has been an integral part of Yamaha Motor Corporation’s DNA throughout our 60-year history, and the support of this series, the riders, and the fans will, for sure, contribute to our continued mutual success. We’re looking forward to MotoAmerica’s second year and our increased involvement in America’s premier road racing series.”

“Having Yamaha back as an Official Manufacturer for the second year of MotoAmerica is quite special,” said MotoAmerica President and three-time 500cc World Champion Wayne Rainey. “They are very involved in the series with their team and support of other riders through their bLU cRU teams, and now they are also stepping up to be the title sponsor of two of our races at VIR and New Jersey Motorsports Park. The relationship continues to flourish and we are very proud that they are continuing to be an integral part of our championship as we continue to grow the series.”
