The 2016 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship got off to a scintillating start at the Circuit of The Americas with round one held in conjunction with the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, April 10-12. Former Moto2 World Champion and MotoGP winner Toni Elias surprised many with his two wins in Austin as a replacement rider for the injured Jake Lewis in the pair of thrilling races. Then Elias and his Yoshimura Suzuki went and backed it up in race one of the Suzuki Superbike Shootout of Georgia at Road Atlanta on April 17 before defending MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier finally put an end to the Spaniard’s win streak in race two.

MOTOAMERICA GOES LIVE ON TV WITH beIN SPORTS

MotoAmerica announced that it will join the MotoGP™ World Championship and World Superbike Championship on beIN SPORTS after signing an exclusive multi-year contract with the network to air its races live. The telecasts began with the opening round of the 2016 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, April 8-10, and followed with round two at Road Atlanta, April 15-17.

Fans can access exclusive content every race on beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS CONNECT, the network’s streaming service, beginning on Saturday mornings (Friday at the Utah Motorsports Campus round) and throughout the weekend for coverage of qualifying and racing in all scheduled classes. Depending on the venue, this includes Superbike, Supersport, Superstock 600 and the KTM RC Cup. The races will also be archived for on-demand viewing.

“We’ve been working on this for a long time,” MotoAmerica President and three-time 500cc World Champion Wayne Rainey said. “Our fans, teams, riders and the motorcycle industry have wanted live television and we’ve been able to put this deal together with beIN SPORTS. The commitment beIN SPORTS is bringing to the MotoAmerica Series will be second to none. The production values will be unlike anything the series has seen before and we are really looking forward to the start of our season now that the missing ingredient has been finalized. Now our fans will be able to watch our series on beIN and we’re confident that they are going to like what they see. We’d like to thank Dorna for their cooperation in helping make this happen. It’s perfect for our fans that we are on the same network as both MotoGP and World Superbike.”

DISTRIBUTING GIANT COMES ON BOARD AS SUPPORTING PARTNER

MotoAmerica is proud to announce that Parts Unlimited is on board as a supporting partner of the 2016 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship with the distributing giant returning as a sponsor of the sport they played a major role in until 2012.

“I remember always seeing Parts Unlimited as a sponsor of AMA Superbike racing in its heyday,” said MotoAmerica President and three-time 500cc World Champion Wayne Rainey. “So it’s nice to see them coming back to the sport that they were such a big part of, and we’re pleased that they have the confidence in MotoAmerica to make that return. We’re looking forward to an exciting season of racing and it’s great that Parts Unlimited is going to be a big part of that.”
