Local Singers To Perform Star Spangled Banner
BRASELTON, GA, APR. 15 – Two Atlanta area singers are set to perform the National Anthem at this weekend’s MotoAmerica Suzuki Superbike Shootout of Georgia at Road Atlanta, April 16-17. The pair will open the Saturday and Sunday events in front of a hometown crowd on a national stage with their performances also airing live on beIN SPORTS.
“I have lived in Hall County my entire life,” said Amanda Athens. “I sing on the worship team at The Vine Church and I really enjoy singing country music and writing songs.”
“This opportunity to sing our National Anthem in front of my hometown friends and family is really cool and I’m excited to be a part of it,” said Mona Abboud.

Athens is a 35-year-old mother of two girls, Emma, 11, and Addison, 9, and is from Gainesville, Georgia.

Abboud is a sophomore at nearby Lakeview Academy and is a member of the Tri-M Society, the Thespian Society and an avid music lover and can sing in five languages. She has received seven consecutive Superior Ratings at the Musical Festival, an honorable mention for 2015 and was the winner of the North Gainesville Festival Piano Scholarship for 2016.
