Michael Barnes has become the oldest winner in the 75-year history of the Daytona 200! There were many fancy transporters and well-funded teams in the event, but the 47-year-old Barnes arrived with his Yamaha in the back of a pickup truck. He took home the lion’s share of the $175,000 purse, a new Rolex and Yamaha contingency money. His story is one we can’t wait to hear!

Arthur Kowitz was a true privateer when he went up against the factory giants in AMA Superbike in the 1980’s. In the 75th Daytona 200, he became the oldest known rider to ever start and finish the 200! In between, he has done many things on the racetrack, but most notable is his influence in electric motorcycle road racing! Art joins us with his story in this edition of Talking Motorcycles.

Kevin Elliott is the president of the American Sportbike Racing Association, which conducted the Daytona 200 at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway. Working closely with International Speedway Corporation and the speedway itself, the 75th Daytona 200 was a success, with a total purse was $175,000 and more than $80,000 in additional contingency funds available for the riders. What are his thoughts on the future of the Daytona 200? We will learn that and more in this exciting and informative post-200 wrap up edition of Talking Motorcycles Radio Show powered by Crosley Brands!

Special thanks to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson and Destination Daytona and Dunlop Motorcycle Tires.
