Ducati revealed a limited edition version of the Scrambler as the first product of a three-year collaboration with fashion design company Italia Independent. Introduced this weekend at the Art Basel exhibition, the Ducati Scrambler Italia Independent is a cafe racer-inspired take on the Scrambler with a dark black and copper color scheme.

The limited edition model (only 1,077 units will be built) has a blacked-out engine with matching black Termignoni exhaust system and matte black bodywork. To provide some contrast, the wheels and frame are painted “Night Copper” while the sides of the tank receive a similar dark brown color..

For a cafe look, the limited edition Scrambler also receives a ribbed seat, low handlebars and underslung bar-end mirrors. The headlight is also enclosed in a small fairing that also covers the front of the Scrambler’s offset instrument panel.

Italia Independent, which was founded by Fiat heir Lapo Elkann, also introduced a matching set of black and copper sunglasses. The company will eventually produce four more sunglasses to go with each of the Scramber Classic, Full Throttle, Icon and Urban Enduro.

“In these days in Miami we have been celebrating art and design, the ideal setting to present the first limited edition of the new Ducati Scrambler and a brand new eyewear collection, the first tangible result of our partnership with Italia Independent,” says Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding. “Lapo Elkann and his team of creative designers have brought a breath of fresh air and creativity to Ducati, and we are sure that this will be the start of an exciting partnership.”
