EMotoRacing ESuperSport Class Permanent Addition To AHRMA
eMotoRacing has announced its eSuperSport class has been adopted as a permanent roadracing class in AHRMA. This follows two years of the electric class operating as an exhibition class within the sanctioning body. While known for its historic racing classes, AHRMA also has a slew of classes for modern motorcycles, and with this announcement the organization now has an eye toward the future.
According to an eMotoRacing press release, good participation by racers and sponsors, good on-track action, safe racing and strong public interest were key factors influencing the AHRMA Board of Trustees decision.
Since the overwhelming majority of ebike entries were in eSuperSport, the less popular eGrandPrix exhibition class was folded into eSuperSport. The class consists of modern sportbikes that have been converted to electric, stock production Brammos and Zeros, and modified production bikes.
The 2016 season will kick off at Roebling Road in Savannah, Georgia on February 26.

Troy's been riding motorcycles and writing about them since 2006, getting his start at Rider Magazine. From there, he moved to Sport Rider Magazine before finally landing at Motorcycle.com in 2011. A lifelong gearhead who didn't fully immerse himself in motorcycles until his teenage years, Troy's interests have always been in technology, performance, and going fast.
