Suzuki Reveals Concept GSX

Suzuki revealed a concept teasing its next-generation sportbike. Perhaps “sculpture” is a bit more accurate than “concept”, as it looks more like an art piece than a functioning motor vehicle. Suzuki actually describes it as a concept object rather than a concept motorcycle (Evans Brasfield likens the concept to a GSX soap-on-a-rope.)

According to Suzuki, the Concept GSX “symbolizes the high-performance bikes that bear the GSX name. It gives form to Suzuki’s inline-four sportbike-making spirit and evokes a cocoon from which the company’s future sportbike models will be born.”

The headlight looks like a squintier evolution of the current GSX-R lamp design, extending to the sides above a pair of air intakes. The bodywork shows hints of the pre-2011 GSX-R600 but with fewer gaps; we’re a bit surprised it doesn’t look more like Suzuki’s GSX-RR MotoGP prototype however.

Suzuki will present the Concept GSX at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show in late October, which unfortunately suggests we’ll have to wait until next fall to see a production model.
