The most powerful Ducati naked ever is almost here: a more powerful engine, a sportier chassis and an advanced design.
The new Monster 1200 R, will be unveiled during the Volkswagen Group Night in Frankfurt on 14 September. This event takes place just before the IAA 2015 (Internationale Automobilausstellung in Frankfurt am Main) opens its doors to the public. During the show the new Monster 1200 R will be displayed for the very first time at the Audi booth from September 15 to 20.
Usually when Ducati appends an “R” to a thing, it’s pretty special. It would make sense for the new Monster to use the same new Testastretta DVT 1200cc L-Twin as the new Multistrada, DVT for Desmo Variable Timing – Ducati’s first use of that powerband-broadening technology. A sportier chassis is promised, and we’re hoping added footroom on the right peg is part of the improvements. As to what else will be going on with the new Monster, we’ll know all in six days.
