The director of documentaries “Faster” and “Fastest” and “The Doctor, the Tornado and the Kentucky Kid” is back with another film about MotoGP racing featuring the top stars of the past few seasons. Mark Neale‘s “Hitting the Apex” follows the intense rivalries (and the common bonds) shared by top racers Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa, plus the tragic story of Marco Simoncelli and the phenomenal rise of Marc Marquez.

Neale’s usual choice for narrator Ewan McGregor is absent from “Hitting the Apex,” replaced by another Hollywood star and MotoGP fan, Brad Pitt, who also shares producing credits. Here’s the trailer:

Unfortunately, “Hitting the Apex” is only scheduled for theatrical release in the U.K., Italy and Spain. We hope the film can find a U.S. distributor or at least eventually be made available on video streaming platforms.
