Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali was interviewed by The Economic Times of India, where he talked about the about the company’s reported skyrocketing success since being purchased by Volkswagen in 2012. Ducati says it sold 7,400 motorcycles in June, a 60-percent increase over the same month last year. And through the first half of the year, the company reports increased sales of 22 percent, to a record 32,600 motorcycles delivered.

“The Volkswagen takeover, he says, was fundamental in boosting Ducati sales — not only by providing stable ownership but also through its focus on customer satisfaction, as opposed to mere financial returns.”
