With first practice for the Isle of Man TT having launched this past weekend, the 96th running of the famous race is now underway. To celebrate, Metzeler has created a special edition of the Racetec RR, dubbed the Racetec RR Guy Martin Special Edition.
With the Racetec RR Guy Martin Special Edition, Metzeler is paying homage to one of its favorite racers, by offering tires in the same specification as used by Guy Martin in his real road races, like the Isle of Man TT, Northwest 200, Ulster Grand Prix and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
Available in 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 and 190/55-17 rear sizes, the compounds of these tires are “the most extreme racing oriented compounds on a street legal tire for these sizes,” according to Metzeler. These tires also differ from the standard Racetec RR in that Guy Martin’s name and logo is present on the sidewall of the tire. His signature Skull and Spanners symbol is also engraved multiple times on the tread pattern.
