The 2015 Laconia Rally kicks off with the 9th annual Peter Makris Memorial Run on Saturday morning, June 13 with kickstands up at 11 AM for a State Police escorted, ‘feet-up’ ride around Lake Winnipesaukee, followed by an all-day party at the NASWA Resort. The other charity rides throughout the week include The Mae West Memorial Run on Monday, June 15, for the NH Humane Society and the NHMRO Benefit Ride from the Coast to the Mountains on Wednesday, June 17 from Makris Lobster & Steakhouse.

Veterans are also supported by the motorcycle community as evidenced by the Veterans’ Appreciation Day at the American Police Motorcycle Museum on Tuesday, June 16 and at the 22nd Annual POW/MIA Freedom Ride at Winnipesaukee Crossing at 6 PM, Thursday, June 18.

“There is something here for everybody,” says Charlie St. Clair, Executive Director of the rally, “Events like the Hill Climb, Gypsy Tours, Races and our many charity rides, add to the festivity of the Rally but the people here really make the difference–they care about the experience that riders have here. We all want them to tell even more people and return with more friends – we are proud to be The World’s Oldest Motorcycle Rally but we are also open to growth, change and welcoming new people.”

You can register now for the Laconia Passport Program to investigate new rides and destinations as you get your Passport stamped at participating bars, restaurants, museums, retail stores and other tourism attractions. Upon completion and submission of the Passport at Rally Headquarters, riders register for the grand prize of free accommodations at the NASWA Resort for next year’s rally. All Passport participants also get a commemorative hoodie sweatshirt for engaging in the search for new riding destinations and routes.

Tickets ($15 per person) are available for the Motorcycle Week cruise on the M/S Mount Washington, Monday evening, providing a leisurely cruise around the 70-acre lake. Monday and Thursday of the Rally are also rider appreciation days at the Mt. Washington Auto Road where it’s motorcycles only all the way to the summit of the tallest peak in the northeast.

Laconia Motorcycle Week colorfully explodes with fireworks at 10 PM on Wednesday, June 17! (Thursday, June 18 rain date), sponsored by Progressive Insurance. The NASWA Resort will also be colorful and hot on Thursday afternoon where contestants for the Miss Laconia title will compete at the annual Nazkini Contest.

Laconia Fest 2015, a new event this year, brings national music acts to the Drive-In in Weirs Beach. These shows planned for Thursday through Saturday, will be announced soon, so stay tuned for upcoming concert news.
