Former Ducati NA CEO Silei to Lead Dainese

Italian protective wear maker Dainese has appointed Cristiano Silei as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Silei, who will also join Dainese’s Board of Directors, brings with him nearly 20 years of experience with Ducati, serving various roles including director of corporate strategy and product development, vice president of sales and marketing and two stints as CEO of Ducati North America.

“Dainese is one of those rare companies to have truly created a new market through technology and innovation, and I am honored to have been chosen to lead the company,” says Silei. “The opportunity ahead for Dainese to further capitalize on its global brand and superior product offering is vast.”

Silei replaces outgoing CEO Federico Minoli who will now assume the role of Chairman.

“Cristiano is the perfect person to lead Dainese, and will contribute his unique experience and skills to accelerate its international expansion and product innovation,” says Minoli.

Silei’s appointment comes five months after Dainese was acquired by InvestCorp for US$162 million.
