Audi Reports Ducati's Q2 2014 Sales Results

Ducati sold 26,740 motorcycles worldwide during the first half of 2014, up 2.9% from 25,982 motorcycles sold in the same period last year. Sales revenue however saw a drop of 2.2% in the opening six months of the year.

According to the second quarter report from its parent company Audi, Ducati saw increased demand in the U.S. and the United Kingdom as well as in the Asian region compared to the first half of 2013.

Sales of Hypermotard and Multistrada models were down in the first half but increased in the Naked and Sport segments, thanks to the introduction of the Monster 821 and 1200 and the exclusive 1199 Superleggera.

Ducati generated €370 million (US$496.3 million) in revenue for Audi, compared to €378 million last year. Operating income decreased to €41 million from €57 million.
