Austin custom motorcycle shop, Revival Motorcycles, has partnered with Moto Guzzi and Circuit of the Americas (COTA) to put on a FREEmotorcycle art and entertainment showcase during the USGP scheduled for the weekend of April 11–12. Held at Revival Motorcycle’s downtown location, 1100 East 5th Street in Austin, the event will be a celebration of handcrafted motorcycles and the moto-lifestyle.

Custom motorcycles as hand-crafted art.

The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show presented by Moto Guzzi will feature over 100 custom, hand-built motorcycle creations of all shapes and styles. This celebration of two-wheeled creativity’s goal is to both showcase the artistry of a group of unique craftspeople and attempt to inspire motorcyclists to delve in to the world of creating a personal vision with one’s own hands.

Celebrating those who choose to modify their motorcycles with their own hands.

“We’re excited and honored to display the creative works and wares of the riding peers and artists that share our love of motorcycle culture and to do so in what will be a beautiful way, ” says Alan Stulberg, co-founder and owner of Revival Cycles.

In addition to the custom bike show, the Second Skin Custom Jacket Show will take place at the venue. Since riding gear is as much a part of the motorcycle scene as the motorcycles themselves, the Second Skin Custom Jacket Show will display a variety of custom jackets, ranging from vintage pieces to modern apparel. If you like MC-Club jackets and vests, check out this exhibit. Additionally, four custom jackets from show sponsor REV’IT!that were customized by Austin artists will be on display.

If that’s not enough, The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show will also feature riders on The Wall of Death, a motorcycle print display, local art, and wet-plate tintype photography by Lumiere Tintype. Food and drinks will also be available.

“We are excited to welcome back the world’s best motorcycle riders to compete at our track this spring and to be working with Revival Cycles on the perfect complement for our MotoGP weekend,” COTA Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Geoff Moore said. “The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show presented by Moto Guzzi is a great place for motorcycle fans to immerse themselves in custom bikes and the kind of down home, authentic food and entertainment for which Austin is famous.”

Like most of the best happenings in his life, Evans stumbled into his motojournalism career. While on his way to a planned life in academia, he applied for a job at a motorcycle magazine, thinking he’d get the opportunity to write some freelance articles. Instead, he was offered a full-time job in which he discovered he could actually get paid to ride other people’s motorcycles – and he’s never looked back. Over the 25 years he’s been in the motorcycle industry, Evans has written two books, 101 Sportbike Performance Projects and How to Modify Your Metric Cruiser, and has ridden just about every production motorcycle manufactured. Evans has a deep love of motorcycles and believes they are a force for good in the world.
