Jack Daniel's Indian Chief Vintage Auction Raises $30,000 for Operation Ride Home

A customized 2014 Indian Chief Vintage was auctioned for $30,000, raising money to support Operation Ride Home, a partnership program between Jack Daniel’s and the Armed Forces YMCA that supports military service members. The funds will help junior-enlisted members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families return home during the holiday season.

The donated Chief Vintage, No. 7 off the production line at Polaris Industries‘ factory in Spirit Lake, Iowa, was customized by Klock Werks Kustom Cycles with a special leather seat, hand-laid pin striping and logos for Jack Daniel’s and Operation Ride Home. The custom motorcycle was an important part of Indian’s display at several stops of the 2013-2014 International Motorcycle Shows tour before it landed at the Barrett-Jackson auction house Jan. 19. The winning bid was made by George Munsterman and his wife Mary Brinckerhoff of New York.

The auction proceeds will pay for travel vouchers, plane tickets and pre-paid debit cards for gas, lodging and food for service personnel and their families.

“For nearly 113 years the U.S. military has been an integral part of the legendary Indian Motorcycle brand, and many of this company’s proudest achievements revolved around our support of this country’s war efforts,” says Steve Menneto, vice president of motorcycles for Polaris. “It was a pleasure to partner with Jack Daniel’s and the Armed Forces YMCA in support of Operation Ride Home, and all of us at Polaris Industries and Indian Motorcycle are honored to donate the proceeds from the auction of this unique and symbolic motorcycle for the benefit of America’s military personnel and their families.”
