Indian Announces 'Honoring Heroes' Incentive Program
Today, Indian Motorcycle announced the Honoring Heroes incentive program which supports North American military personnel. Furthering a “nearly 100 year commitment to Armed Forces,” Indian will give any active, reserve, National Guard, and retired military personnel a $1,000 incentive towards the purchase of any new Indian Chief models.
Those who follow Indian Motorcycle news most likely know that the Honoring Heroes program for all U.S. and Canadian Armed Forces personnel is an extension of an earlier program. For those who don’t know, here’s the deal: Riders with valid military ID can receive this $1,000 cash back incentive when they buy a new Indian through the end of 2014 – though we don’t know why anyone would want to wait until after the riding season to take advantage of this deal.
Commenting on Indian Motorcycle’s history of supporting the military, vice president of motorcycles for Polaris, Steve Menneto said, “Indian Motorcycle has a long and legendary history of supporting our Armed Forces, and supplied many thousands of bikes to the military in both WWI and WWII. We are very proud of that heritage and today we continue that tradition with our Honoring Heroes program. You can expect strong and ongoing commitment from Indian Motorcycle to the brave men and women of our military in 2014 and beyond.”
The Honoring Heroes program is not the only nice thing that Indian is currently doing for those in the armed services. January 10, 2014 is Stars and Stripes Saturday Sponsored by Indian Motorcycle at the Washington Progressive International Motorcycle Show, and all attendees with a valid military get free admission to the show and a special gift from Indian.
Also, Indian has partnered with Jack Daniel’s and the Armed Services YMCA to build a custom bike from Indian Motorcycle frame “No. 7” from the 2014 production line. This bike will be auctioned off on January 12–19, 2014 by Barrett-Jackson, one of the world’s leading auctioneers of classic vehicles, at its Scottsdale, AZ auction. The proceeds of this auction will benefit military families through “Operation Ride Home.”
