Live Tweed, Ride Dapper – The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride This Weekend
Grab your tweed suit and loafers, wax up your mustache and fire up your café racer, because this weekend’s worldwide Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride brings vintage enthusiasts together for a common cause.
This year’s DGR will once again shatter the stereotypes, but this time for a cause. Taking a cue from the annual Movember charity event, where men around the world gather to grow ‘staches for charity, the 2013 DGR asks participants to sign up sponsors who will pledge a donation to their ride. Proceeds will go to charities that focus on prostate cancer research and awareness, including The Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Prizes will be awarded to riders who raise the most money, from sponors including Deus Ex Machina and Gentleman Jack. Riders who raise over $100 will receive a DGR Prize Pack including stickers, patches and more.
In 2013, the DGR boasts more than over 5000 riders in over 110 cities in nearly 40 countries, from North and South America to Europe, Asia and Australia, including such far-flung places as Liechtenstein, Costa Rica and Irag. For more information on a ride near you, or to organize on in your area, visit the website or the DGR Facebook page. To watch numerous videos of last year’s event, visit the DGR Vimeo site.
And remember: Live tweed – ride dapper.
